The PolyChrome Kick-Off Meeting, which was held in preparation for the Working In Photonics event at HHI on Oct. 26.
Together with our industrial partners: ADVA, Allresist, Chembio, Toptica , eagleyard , Ficontec, micro resist technology, Ams Osram, Scienion, VPI photonics and our academic partners Fraunhofer HHI, Fraunhofer IZI-BB und LZH we dealt with the main topics in the joint project:
- Materials technology for integrated photonic circuits and microfluidics
- Functional components, chip and packaging technology for PICs
- Fiber optics as sensor
- Integrated laser sources for VIS to NIR range
- SiN-based photonic sensor chips
Attached are some pictures of the kick-off meeting:
The association PolyPhotonics Berlin e.V. is pleased about the numerous registrations and the successful event last week at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute.
The event for securing skilled workers and promoting young talent “Working in Photonics” was a complete success. Around 50 participants used the platform to establish contacts between young professionals such as microtechnologists and students and the universities, research institutes and companies in the region and surrounding area and got an impression of the potential and versatility of photonics. Photonics in the Berlin university landscape was presented very comprehensively to the interested audience by Prof. Dr. Maurizio Burla (Technical University of Berlin) and Prof. Dr. Ingeborg Beckers (Berlin University of Applied Sciences). Representatives of partner companies from the region and beyond presented themselves and the opportunities for entering the world of photonics. The Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute provided a practical insight into the various jobs available, ranging from students to microtechnologists and technical staff to research assistants working towards a doctorate. The event was rounded off with presentations on the application fields of photonics, such as telecommunications, analytics and quantum technology, as well as a laboratory tour. Special thanks go to the organizers from Fraunhofer HHI, the partners from the PolyChrome-Berlin consortium as well as PolyPhotonics-Berlin e.V..
We hope to welcome a broad spectrum of interested parties again soon.
Also this year our association of Polyphotonics Berlin e.V. will be at ECOC in Basel, Switzerland from September 19-21, 2022.
The event is the most important meeting place for everyone in the fiber optic communication technology industry and we look forward to welcoming you back to our exhibition halls.
We look forward to being back in the exhibition halls. The show will once again feature the latest products and services, as well as another opportunity to meet and network face-to-face with key suppliers and industry leaders.
Meeting colleagues, customers and peers, as well as international exhibitors, over the three days of the show will be a great foundation for exchanging ideas, learning and making new business contacts.
We look forward to seeing all participants and visitors in September.
