From the Spree to the world – visiting the “hidden champions” on the “Made in Berlin” tour

On Monday, January 8, the Senator for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises went on the “Made in Berlin” tour of 2024 and visited production facilities of new leading companies in Berlin under the motto “Hidden Champions”. This year, companies with an “entrepreneurial spirit and innovative spirit” that have already made a name for themselves internationally were selected. During the “Made in Berlin” tour, the companies introduced themselves and gave tours of their production and manufacturing facilities.

The visit was also shared on the X profile (formerly Twitter) of the Senate Administration and Franziska Giffey’s personal official Instagram account.

PolyPhotonics Berlin e.V. participated in Photonic Days 2023 in Berlin Adlershof to present innovative photonic solutions and discuss the latest industry trends. The event provided a unique platform for the exchange of ideas and strengthened Berlin’s position as a center for optical technologies.

The PolyChrome Kick-Off Meeting, which was held in preparation for the Working In Photonics event at HHI on Oct. 26.

Together with our industrial partners: ADVA, Allresist, Chembio,  Toptica , eagleyard , Ficontec, micro resist technology, Ams Osram, Scienion, VPI photonics and our academic partners Fraunhofer HHI, Fraunhofer IZI-BB und LZH we dealt with the main topics in the joint project:

1. Materials technology for integrated photonic circuits and microfluidics
2. Functional components, chip and packaging technology for PICs
3. Fiber optics as sensor
4. Integrated laser sources for VIS to NIR range
5. SiN-based photonic sensor chips
